Can I reserve a book?
If the book that you require is currently checked out to another student or staff member, then you can place a reservation on it. This means that when the book is returned, it will be held at the Information Desk for you to collect. You will receive an email to let you know when the book is available.
What type of item can be reserved?
Any book in print format that is a standard loan can be reserved. Reference material cannot be reserved.
How do I reserve a book?
Log into your library account using your college email address and your college password.
- Search for the book you want.
- Click place hold button
- Click the confirm button
- When the book is available for you to collect, an email will be sent to your college email address.
What is a postal loan?
Online Learners can reserve books that they require for their studies and these books are posted out to them. This is known as a Postal Loan.
Online Learners can reserve books that are currently available in the library aswell as books that are currently checked out by other students and staff. Once the books are available, they are sent with a postal return bag and a pre-paid postage label to the Online Learner. The postal return bag and label can be used by the Online Learner to return the books to the library.
How do I order a Postal Loan?
Log into your library account using your college email address and your college password.
- Search for the book you want.
- Click place hold button
- Click the confirm button
- When the book is available for you to collect, an email will be sent to your college email address.
- Send an email to library.sligo@atu.ie to arrange for the books to be posted to you.
