This service allows us to get items for you from other library collections. This includes books and journal articles, that are not held in our collection. Please make sure you have search Eolas, Pubmed and Google Scholar first. The item might be free online.

Online Learners

If you have requested a journal article and wish to have it posted to you that is no problem. You will have to fill in a copyright declaration form and either post or email it to us in advance.

How many Inter-Library loans (ILLS) can I request in a year?


  • Teaching Staff 20 IT Loans 20 Charged Loans
  • Postgraduate Students 30 IT Loans 30 Charged Loans
  • *(British Library and any other charging supplier. The library pays for them)
  • *(Loans from any other Institute of Technology)

What content can I request?

Books, Journal issues, journal  articles, theses, dissertations, conference papers, reports
The service is for learning , research or teaching purposes. You can’t request items for personal or leisure use.

How do I collect my requests?

We send you an email. (college email address ) You collect at the library information desk.

Return date – You will find a slip with the due date for return inside the book you have requested.

Please contact us by email if you want to renew a book.

Please return books to the library information desk do not use the Quick Check machine.

Online Learners

You can post the items back to us by registered post if you wish.

Are there any restrictions on what I can request?

Copyright regulations

You may not make duplicate requests for an article which You have already got.

We cannot supply several people with the same material for the same purpose at the same time.

Some thesis, special collections items, or very expensive items are not available.
